Checklist – Taking Baby On A Road Trip

Here is a handy checklist for taking baby (and young children) on a road trip.

  • Car seat for baby
  • Window shades (sun screens)
  • A carry all bag packed with diapers, baby wipes and a change of clothes for your baby
  • Baby bibs
  • Baby food, snacks and drinks packed in a cooler in warm weather
  • Baby’s drink cup or bottle
  • Bottle warmer
  • A damp wash cloth in a plastic bag / or more baby wipes in the front console – good for face and finger clean ups
  • First aid kit/medications or baby paracetomol
  • Baby’s blanket
  • Small box or drawstring bag for toys and books
  • Baby’s sleep music or white noise
  • Music CD’s with kids songs or pre-recorded stories for toddlers /young  children
  • Alternatively young children might like their own CD player, iPod or iPad loaded with songs or games
  • Empty plastic bags for rubbish
  • Flashlight for traveling at night
  • Baby carrier/sling
  • Baby stroller
  • Baby travel cot
  • Travel Potty if your baby is at the toilet training stage
  • Camera
  • Money /wallet or purse/ ID
  • Cell phone with emergency numbers saved
  • GPS or maps / driving directions
  • Suitcases / or travel bags for adults and baby
